Review and Giveaway: Woodsnap

It was love at first sight when I stumbled upon Woodsnap.  I just loved the way those photos looked printed on wood and hung, and I knew that you would, too.  Not only would you want one for yourself, but I knew these would make great gifts as well!  Woodsnap graciously sent me an 11x14 to review:

The process was very simple and the printing was fast.  In no time I was unwrapping one of my favourite family photos printed on wood!  I was immediately struck with the warmth the woodgrain brought to my photo.  It changed the photo a little in that I chose a photo with a lot of light reflecting on the water; now instead of a glassy, silvery feel, this precious photo is warm and yellowed and truly a perfect treasure above our mantle.  The grain of the wood bleeds through a little adding to the watercolour effect.  I absolutely love it, it's such an earthy, vintage look and truly unique.  It's like nothing else in our home and I will treasure it forever.

You can see I have it resting on the mantle and it is not yet hung.  This is because I am not sure exactly where I wish to hang it.  Hanging it will be a breeze when I make up my mind because Woodsnap had the foresight to route the back of the block so that you can hang without any additional hardware.  All you need is a nail in the wall (and your mind made.)  Despite the high-quality wood used it was neither heavy nor cumbersome.  Frankly, this whole thing has blown my mind just a little bit.  Already I'm thinking of other places in my home for wood prints, like a trio of smaller ones in my breakfast nook.  I love not messing around with clumsy hanging hardware.  I love not having mattes and frames and glass.  I just love it all!

Worried about using up our precious trees for your home decor?  Don't!  Woodsnap has partnered with American Forests and plants a tree for every woodsnap you buy.  In other words, you are doing us all a favour when you buy from Woodsnap.  GreatGiftsGreatGiftsGreatGiftsGreatGifts..... (what do you mean that's not subtle?)

I haven't seen photos printed on wood before. I love them on canvas and would love to see how that compares to the wood.

Printing on wood? How interesting. I've never heard of that but it sounds pretty exciting and green as well! I naturally love everything made of wood, carved into wood, everything! This would be such a gorgeous piece in my living room!
