My husband and I are book lovers. So much so that my husband worked at a book store the past few years (part-time) to get a discount on books! I am a huge lover of all things romantic-hence my love for anything Jane Austen! My husband on the other hand has a MLitt/MFA in Shakespearian Literature in Performance. So he LOVES anything written by Shakespeare-- yes, he is kind of a nerd...but oh how I love him!
My husband, being the nerdy Shakespeare guy that he is loves reading Shakespeare to our children. I am sorry but I am 30 years old and I fall asleep within the first 10 minutes of a Shakespearian play or reading. So needless to say you can imagine what happens when he starts reading "to be or not to be" to our 6 and 2 year old. They are BORED out of their minds.
While browsing online the other day I came upon these BRILLIANT Books BabyLit Board Books by Jennifer Adams. Not only are they beautifully illustrated by Sugar's Allison Oliver they are also super educational. For example, Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice helps children learn to count and Alice in Wonderland helps your little ones learn colors. Also available are Sense and Sensibility, Dracula, Jane Eyre ,Romeo and Juliet, Moby Dick and A Christmas Carol . The books are great for different ages at different learning levels. I will definitely be picking up more of these books in a month or two. We love them! Ebook versions are also available on iBooks.
You can preview the pdf version of Jane Eyre here.
